THE MUSEUM OF NATURE AND TECHNOLOGY

We can find here a reconstructed metallurgical settlement showing the iron smelting process in the ancient blast furnaces. We can see a historical scenery of the Old Polish Industrial District here. The preserved architectonic structures as well as the technological terraced arrangement of the ironworks from 1841 shows the magnificence of the plant operating in the Staszic's complex of the ,,continuous plant of the iron factories on the Kamienna River". The most valuable object on the area of the Museum is the Great Furnace from 1899 with the only preserved complete crude iron smelting processing line in Europe as well as one of the largest steam machinery in the world of vertical system of the pistons. The Museum also presents industrial traditions of Starachowice related with a production of trucks STAR. The most popular exhibit is the off - road truck STAR 266, which participated in the Paris - Dakar rally. Also the oldest models of STAR 20 and 25 and the pre - war monuments of armaments production are presented there. The post - industrial hall of the boiler room is provided with a paleontological collection, which makes up the world's unique evidence of the fauna variety of terrestrial vertebrates from the early Triassic Period from around 245 millions years ago. The collection of spoors of teremorph reptiles - terapsids and primate reptiles - Archeosauria is ideally preserved in the stone blocks. The museum also presents the unique precious spoors of the dinosaurs from the Jurassic Period. Age, size and the state of preservation determines the unique character of the fossils.
